There are short films which have been made with high-budget VFX content.<\/p>\n

Short films with heavy VFX content increases the standard for the way short films are being looked at.<\/p>\n

In this blog our aim is to inform you about the VFX \u2013laden short films that had us on the edge of the seat.<\/p>\n

These VFX short films are excellent in terms of the ways in which they are being made.<\/p>\n

In limited few minutes time they deliver a unique idea or thought or perspective.<\/p>\n

Let us begin with the short film As You Command.<\/p>\n

VFX Short As You Command<\/h2>\n

\"VFX<\/p>\n

VFX Short film As You Command<\/a> is made by Media Design School of New Zealand.<\/p>\n

It is about a painter who gets a new chance at life when a Genie comes out of a smashed wall.<\/p>\n

The painter wishes for different jobs and all his childhood dreams.<\/p>\n

The Genie fulfils all the childhood dreams of the painter but the painter messed up.<\/p>\n

Finally the painter realises that his life was better before he met with the Genie.<\/p>\n

Blue coloured smoky wish-granting boy or Genie is quite impressive in this movie.<\/p>\n

CG Genie can appear anywhere in a blink of eye.<\/p>\n

The movements of the Genie are seamless.<\/p>\n

With few shots painters all the childhood dreams are visualised.<\/p>\n

Directed by James Cuningham<\/a>, this film took over a period of three months.<\/p>\n

About class of 28 students designed the character of the Genie, and did all the animation and visual effects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This film is a part of the animation and visual effects degree program.<\/p>\n

CG artists, Compositors and Animators<\/a> worked on this short film.<\/p>\n

Artists used software like Houdini<\/a>, V-ray, shotgun, Nuke<\/a>, Zbrush<\/a> etc.<\/p>\n

This film has CG dinosaur too.<\/p>\n

The voice for Genie was given by Simon Mckinney.<\/p>\n

Time Travelled Future Boyfriend<\/h2>\n

\"VFX<\/p>\n

Bellhouse Productions Science-fiction short film Future Boyfriend is directed by Ben Rock.<\/p>\n

It is written by A .Vincent Warich.<\/p>\n

Ron Morehouse played the role of Stuart and Emily Bell played Kaylie.<\/p>\n

Both Stuart and Kaylie were enjoying their date until Stuart reveals that he has come from future 2078 through a time travel app.<\/p>\n

Future Boyfriend added up VFX with storytelling<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Time Travel App is something amazing and well-crafted by VFX.<\/p>\n

In this short film VFX was used to create a hologram that served as a monitor.<\/p>\n

Through this monitor of hologram Kaylie gets a shocking glimpse of her life in future.<\/p>\n

This film is streaming on platforms such as DUST and Omeleto.<\/p>\n

It won the Audience Choice Award at the Pensacon Film Festival<\/a><\/p>\n

We can see actor French Stewart in the time travel app talking to Ron.<\/p>\n

Actress Pat Mcneely played the role of older Kaylie and Dominic Mora played waiter.<\/p>\n

VFX-loaded AGARTHA<\/h2>\n

\"VFX<\/p>\n

ISART DIGITAL\u2019S short VFX film AGARTHA is available on CGMeetUp Platform.<\/a><\/p>\n

AGARTHA<\/a> showed a biologist who explores a deserted city area full of vegetation.<\/p>\n

The biologist enters into a cave where he comes across beautiful CG flowers and vegetations.<\/p>\n

The luminous flowers has unique colour.<\/p>\n

The biologist enjoys the beauty of his surroundings but with in a second all the beauty vanishes and he faces deadly roots which try to engulf him.<\/p>\n

The makers used VFX to create the magical world of vegetation.<\/p>\n

Blue and purple coloured flowers bloomed everywhere in the magical world.<\/p>\n

As soon as small floating thousands of lights hit the ground the magical world turns into danger.<\/p>\n

Finally a monster star flower engulfed the biologist.<\/p>\n

Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Aklan played the role of biologist.<\/p>\n

It is directed by S\u00e9bastien DEKEYSER.<\/p>\n

Live-Action VFX Short Blink<\/h2>\n

\"VFX<\/p>\n

VFX Short Film Blink featured a cello player who meets a car accident frozen in time.<\/p>\n

Blink is by ArtFx School, France.<\/p>\n

How would a car accidents will really look like if time is being freeze.<\/p>\n

French artists have beautifully shown the things frozen in time in this film.<\/p>\n

The cello player comes out of his car<\/a> and examines each and every item frozen in time.<\/p>\n

A lady\u2019s reaction to the accident is frozen; a bike rider\u2019s has become motionless after falling, lot of goods are up in the sky and motionless.<\/p>\n

Here French artists explored the possibility of frozen action with the help of VFX.<\/p>\n

The Cello player then comes out of the illusion of freeze time and thing becomes normal again.<\/p>\n

At the end of the film credits or acknowledgement card also comes on the images frozen in time.<\/p>\n

A Drop VFX Short Film<\/h2>\n

\"VFX<\/p>\n

A Drop is a VFX loaded film by director Julien Vanhoenacker<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The scene opens with a tensed man in dilemma who jumps from an under-construction building.<\/p>\n

The VFX techniques are stunning as the man falls.<\/p>\n

The man travels through water, air, atmospheres and reaches a new place or new world.<\/p>\n

The Post Bangkok team provided the VFX for the movie.<\/p>\n

VFX team created a visual poetry through images in this film.<\/p>\n

This film provides multiple meanings and ideas and forces the audience to make their own choices.<\/p>\n

A wide range skill contributed through the right team.<\/p>\n

Professionals gave their time and energy to portray the idea and creativity in this project.<\/p>\n

RED Dragon camera<\/a> was used by the team.<\/p>\n

The main protagonist of this movie is Alex Winters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jaika stunt team did the flying scene and defying gravity scene of Alex through huge abandoned construction site.<\/p>\n

The photography<\/a> and lighting<\/a> was done by Pete Pithai Smithsuth and his team.<\/p>\n

This live-action short film has a strong visual narrative and it allows the viewers to come to a conclusion of their own.<\/p>\n
