In limited few minutes time they deliver a unique idea or thought or perspective.

Let us begin with the short film As You Command.

VFX Short film As You Command is made by Media Design School of New Zealand.

It is about a painter who gets a new chance at life when a Genie comes out of a smashed wall.

The painter wishes for different jobs and all his childhood dreams.

The Genie fulfils all the childhood dreams of the painter but the painter messed up.

Finally the painter realises that his life was better before he met with the Genie.

Blue coloured smoky wish-granting boy or Genie is quite impressive in this movie.

CG Genie can appear anywhere in a blink of eye.

The movements of the Genie are seamless.

With few shots painters all the childhood dreams are visualised.

Directed by James Cuningham, this film took over a period of three months.

About class of 28 students designed the character of the Genie, and did all the animation and visual effects.

This film is a part of the animation and visual effects degree program.

CG artists, Compositors and Animators worked on this short film.

Artists used software like Houdini, V-ray, shotgun, Nuke, Zbrush etc.

This film has CG dinosaur too.

The voice for Genie was given by Simon Mckinney.

Time Travelled Future Boyfriend

VFX Short Films @ Animation Kolkata

Bellhouse Productions Science-fiction short film Future Boyfriend is directed by Ben Rock.

It is written by A .Vincent Warich.

Ron Morehouse played the role of Stuart and Emily Bell played Kaylie.

Both Stuart and Kaylie were enjoying their date until Stuart reveals that he has come from future 2078 through a time travel app.

Future Boyfriend added up VFX with storytelling.

The Time Travel App is something amazing and well-crafted by VFX.

In this short film VFX was used to create a hologram that served as a monitor.

Through this monitor of hologram Kaylie gets a shocking glimpse of her life in future.

This film is streaming on platforms such as DUST and Omeleto.

It won the Audience Choice Award at the Pensacon Film Festival

We can see actor French Stewart in the time travel app talking to Ron.

Actress Pat Mcneely played the role of older Kaylie and Dominic Mora played waiter.

VFX-loaded AGARTHA

ISART DIGITAL’S short VFX film AGARTHA is available on CGMeetUp Platform.

AGARTHA showed a biologist who explores a deserted city area full of vegetation.

The biologist enters into a cave where he comes across beautiful CG flowers and vegetations.

The luminous flowers has unique colour.

The biologist enjoys the beauty of his surroundings but with in a second all the beauty vanishes and he faces deadly roots which try to engulf him.

The makers used VFX to create the magical world of vegetation.

Blue and purple coloured flowers bloomed everywhere in the magical world.

As soon as small floating thousands of lights hit the ground the magical world turns into danger.

Finally a monster star flower engulfed the biologist.

Frédéric Aklan played the role of biologist.

It is directed by Sébastien DEKEYSER.

Live-Action VFX Short Blink

VFX Short Film Blink featured a cello player who meets a car accident frozen in time.

Blink is by ArtFx School, France.

How would a car accidents will really look like if time is being freeze.

French artists have beautifully shown the things frozen in time in this film.

The cello player comes out of his car and examines each and every item frozen in time.

A lady’s reaction to the accident is frozen; a bike rider’s has become motionless after falling, lot of goods are up in the sky and motionless.

Here French artists explored the possibility of frozen action with the help of VFX.

The Cello player then comes out of the illusion of freeze time and thing becomes normal again.

At the end of the film credits or acknowledgement card also comes on the images frozen in time.

A Drop VFX Short Film

A Drop is a VFX loaded film by director Julien Vanhoenacker.

The scene opens with a tensed man in dilemma who jumps from an under-construction building.

The VFX techniques are stunning as the man falls.

The man travels through water, air, atmospheres and reaches a new place or new world.

The Post Bangkok team provided the VFX for the movie.

VFX team created a visual poetry through images in this film.

This film provides multiple meanings and ideas and forces the audience to make their own choices.

A wide range skill contributed through the right team.

Professionals gave their time and energy to portray the idea and creativity in this project.

RED Dragon camera was used by the team.

The main protagonist of this movie is Alex Winters.

Jaika stunt team did the flying scene and defying gravity scene of Alex through huge abandoned construction site.

The photography and lighting was done by Pete Pithai Smithsuth and his team.

This live-action short film has a strong visual narrative and it allows the viewers to come to a conclusion of their own.
